The Jazz Gospel

Celebrating the rich history and inspiring future of all things jazz.

About

The Jazz Gospel (TJG) was founded in 2014 by Nick Brown: saxophonist, improviser, composer and blogger, currently in his third year of a BMus Jazz course at the Birmingham Conservatoire, UK. Visit www.nickbrownjazz.com to find out more about Nick.

Beginning life as a twitter page, The Jazz Gospel has been an ongoing project with the mission statement of celebrating the rich history and inspiring future of all things jazz and at the same time, acting as a platform for musicians and jazz enthusiasts to connect. The account tweets daily: celebrating many landmarks within the idiom, sharing quotes and instigating discussion around The Jazz Gospel’s Musician of the Day.

In February 2016, this blog was created to exist alongside the Twitter page and coincide with the continuing development of TJG’s identity: especially in the times when 140 character isn’t quite enough. Blogging has unlocked a whole new potential that has inspired a whole new future for TJG – feel free to subscribe, we’d hate for you to miss anything!
